Redesign of a Corporate Identity, Website, Coffee Cups and Promotional Signage for “Coffee Bean”, the oldest chain of coffee places in Russia.

US national Jerry Ruditser transferred to Moscow in the early 1990s on a mission to create the nation’s first coffee chain, which he succeeded in doing long before Starbucks found Russia on the map. The first coffee shop opened in 1996 few blocks away from the Red Square and was followed by many others in Moscow and around the country.

The design for the new corporate identity translates this history through retro style hand lettering and a wing icon to represent the free spirit atmosphere of all Coffee Bean locations. A taste of bygone times follows through to the design of the coffee cups using stylized illustration to depict characters from well known Russian Fairy Tales and cartoons of the past.
